This is a development of a previous jewellery design.

I wanted to find a way in which I would be able to create an organic animal skin effect without causing any harm to the animal.

I achieved this by using a shed snake skin. This is a naturally occurring process that does not harm the animal in any way. It is also part of cell renewal and the rebirth process.

I hope I have created a fragile and delicate looking piece of jewellery.

During the design process I learnt that durability, elasticity and toughness are hard properties to combine in a single piece of metal jewellery. The snake and nature do it so much better!

Later on I would like to find a way of resolving this such as casting the skin In resin.
